This listing is for a factory carton of 30 Uni-Solar PVL-128 flexible thin-film amorphous silicon solar panels, totaling 3,840 watts of generating capacity. Each panel is rated at 128 watts and 24 volts nominal, and features a peel-and-stick adhesive backing that bonds directly to compatible roofing surfaces without fasteners or mounting hardware. The panels have bottom-facing solder points in place of quick-connect cables.

Applications

The Uni-Solar PVL-128 is a building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) laminate designed specifically for membrane and standing-seam metal roofing systems where traditional framed panels cannot be used. Because the panel bonds directly to the roofing surface with no penetrations, it is well-suited for flat or low-slope commercial and industrial roofs — particularly those with EPDM, TPO, or Galvalume/Zincalume steel substrates. The triple-junction amorphous silicon cell technology gives these panels better low-light and high-temperature performance compared to crystalline silicon panels, making them effective in diffuse or partially overcast conditions. The bypass-diode architecture across every cell limits shading losses to the individual shaded cell, an advantage on rooftops with obstructions. At roughly one-fifth the weight of a comparable crystalline panel, the PVL-128 is also used where roof load capacity is a concern. Uni-Solar manufactured these panels in Auburn Hills, Michigan under the United Solar Ovonic brand (a subsidiary of Energy Conversion Devices, Inc./Nasdaq: ENER) until the facility was liquidated in 2012. New old stock in intact factory cartons is now difficult to source, and these panels remain in demand for retrofitting existing commercial roofs, completing partial installations that used the same panel series, and off-grid or backup power applications where the flexible format is required.

This Uni-Solar PVL-128 flexible solar panel carton contains 30 new, unused panels stored in the original factory carton on a pallet. The panels come directly from the 2012 liquidation of the Unisolar manufacturing and distribution facility and have never been installed. The amorphous silicon cell surfaces are clean and intact, and the panels appear free of damage. These panels include bottom-facing solder points; no cables are included. Uni-Solar PVL-128 peel-and-stick flexible panels are no longer manufactured, and new old stock in factory cartons is increasingly rare.
