This listing is for a full factory carton of 30 Uni-Solar PVL-128B flexible amorphous thin-film solar laminates, totaling 3,840 watts of solar capacity. The PVL-128 is a photovoltaic laminate made by United Solar Ovonic (Uni-Solar) designed to bond directly to metal and membrane roofing surfaces without penetrations or mechanical fasteners. Each panel uses triple-junction amorphous silicon cells encapsulated in a durable ETFE polymer film with a self-adhesive ethylene propylene copolymer backing. This carton includes MC4 cables and a junction box for DIY installations.

Applications

The Uni-Solar PVL-128 is designed specifically for commercial and residential metal roofing and membrane roofing systems where traditional glass-framed crystalline panels are impractical. Because the laminate bonds directly to the roof surface with its self-adhesive backing, installations avoid roof penetrations entirely — a significant advantage on flat or low-slope commercial roofs where leak risk is a primary concern. The flexible, glass-free construction makes these panels roughly one-fifth the weight of equivalent crystalline modules, which matters on load-limited roof structures. Amorphous thin-film technology gives the PVL series a performance advantage in low-light and high-temperature conditions compared to crystalline silicon panels: the triple-junction cell stack captures a broader portion of the solar spectrum, and the negative temperature coefficient means output degrades less on hot roof surfaces. These panels are commonly used on standing-seam metal roofs, TPO and EPDM membrane commercial roofs, and in off-grid systems where a low-profile, non-penetrating installation is required. The 24V nominal voltage makes them compatible with standard 24V battery banks and common grid-tie and off-grid inverters. Uni-Solar (United Solar Ovonic) produced the PVL series at their Michigan facility; production of new panels has ceased, making existing new-in-carton stock increasingly sought after for roof replacement projects and system expansions that used the original laminate design.
