The Uni-Solar PVL-136 is a PowerBond flexible thin-film solar laminate rated at 136 watts peak power (STC). Unlike rigid crystalline panels, these laminates use triple-junction amorphous silicon cells on a flexible stainless steel substrate and bond directly to membrane and metal roofing surfaces with an integrated ethylene propylene copolymer adhesive — no mounting hardware or roof penetrations required. This listing is for a full manufacturer's carton of 30 panels, a custom solder-point variant produced by United Solar Ovonic for a specific client, sourced directly from the Uni-Solar facility at the time of its 2012 liquidation. These panels are new and unused.

Applications

The Uni-Solar PVL (PowerBond Laminate) series was designed specifically for commercial low-slope membrane and standing-seam metal roofing, where conventional racked crystalline panels are impractical due to weight loading, roof penetrations, or wind uplift requirements. The peel-and-stick adhesive laminate bonds directly to TPO, PVC, EPDM, and metal roof surfaces, distributing load across the full panel area rather than point-mounting. The triple-junction thin-film cell stack — capturing blue, green, and red portions of the solar spectrum in separate junction layers — gives these panels better performance than single-junction crystalline cells in low-light and diffuse-light conditions, making them well suited to northern climates and overcast environments. The solder-point termination on this custom variant is intended for wiring directly into a combiner or junction enclosure rather than through the standard quick-connect j-box, giving installers more flexibility in utility-scale or custom array configurations. Typical deployment environments include large commercial and industrial rooftops, carport canopy structures, and building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) applications. Because United Solar Ovonic ceased manufacturing and closed its facility in 2012, genuine PVL laminates are no longer produced, and new-old-stock inventory is the only remaining supply channel for replacement panels, system expansions, or new installations using this format.

This is a custom solder-point variant made for a specific client — these panels are no longer in production and are increasingly hard to find.
