This listing is for a full carton of 30 Uni-Solar PVL-136 PowerBond flexible amorphous solar panels, totaling 4,080 watts. Each panel is a thin-film, triple-junction amorphous silicon laminate rated at 136 watts and 24 volts. This particular carton was custom-configured by Unisolar with bottom-facing 4" wire leads rather than the standard on-top terminal configuration — made for a specific client order that was never fulfilled. The panels came directly from the Unisolar manufacturing and distribution facility liquidation in 2012 and have never been installed.

Applications

The Uni-Solar PVL series is a building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) laminate designed specifically for low-slope commercial and industrial roofing. Unlike rigid crystalline silicon panels that require racking, ballast, or penetrations, PVL panels bond directly to the roof membrane or metal substrate using their factory-applied adhesive backing — making them a common choice for large flat or low-pitch commercial rooftops, carports, and industrial facilities where structural loading and roof penetration are concerns. The triple-junction amorphous silicon cell technology captures a broader portion of the solar spectrum (blue, green, and red wavelengths absorbed in separate cell layers), giving these panels better performance in diffuse, overcast, and low-light conditions compared to conventional crystalline panels. Each cell is protected by its own bypass diode, so partial shading or soiling of one cell affects only that cell's output — typically less than 4.5% loss per shaded cell — rather than degrading the entire string. The PVL-136 panels are less than one-fifth the weight of equivalent crystalline panels, which makes them suited to roofs with limited load capacity. Unisolar (United Solar Ovonic) was a Michigan-based manufacturer and a pioneer in flexible thin-film BIPV laminates; the company operated through 2012, and genuine factory-new PVL stock has become increasingly scarce since the liquidation.
