Applications

MTS Level Plus magnetostrictive transmitters are used for continuous liquid level and temperature measurement in process tanks across food and beverage, chemical, pharmaceutical, and other industrial applications. The magnetostrictive operating principle provides non-contact, high-resolution level sensing: the buoy float follows the liquid surface along the stainless steel rod, and the transmitter electronics convert its position to an analog output signal with high repeatability and no moving parts inside the sensing element. The built-in RTD allows simultaneous temperature measurement without a separate probe, making it well suited for processes where both level and temperature need to be monitored at the same point — such as batch processing tanks, ingredient storage vessels, or sanitary dairy and food-grade tanks. The sanitary tri-clamp flange mount is standard in hygienic process installations where clean-in-place compatibility and easy removal for inspection are required. The Factory Mutual intrinsic safety approval allows installation in Class I and Class II Division 1 hazardous locations, including tanks containing flammable or combustible liquids or dusts.
