Applications

The MTS Level Plus system is a well-established magnetostrictive technology used for precise, continuous level and temperature measurement in storage tanks, process vessels, and bulk liquid containers across a wide range of industries. Magnetostrictive gauging works by sending a current pulse down the sensing rod; a magnetic float on the rod creates a return torsional pulse, and the time-of-flight between pulses determines float position to very high accuracy — typically to within a millimeter. The built-in RTD allows simultaneous temperature compensation or independent temperature logging without a separate probe. The intrinsically safe Factory Mutual rating makes this unit suitable for use in hazardous locations where flammable liquids or gases may be present, including petroleum storage, chemical processing, and solvent handling facilities.
