The Watlow L22J-10406 is a FIREROD series cartridge insertion heater rated at 480V and 3500W. It features a 0.625" (5/8") diameter stainless steel sheath, a 22.625" overall length, and a 20.625" heated (tip-to-hilt) length. A 7/8" hex nut fitting is included for secure installation, and the unit terminates in a 9" lead cable assembly with three color-coded lead wires.

Applications
Watlow FIREROD cartridge heaters are resistance heating elements designed to be inserted directly into drilled holes in metal platens, dies, molds, manifolds, and tooling blocks. They transfer heat conductively into the surrounding material, making them a standard choice for plastic injection molding, die casting, packaging machinery, food processing equipment, and general industrial process heating wherever precise, localized heat is needed. The FIREROD line has long been one of the most widely used cartridge heater families in North American manufacturing. At 480V and 3500W in a 5/8" diameter, this unit is suited for heavy industrial and high-wattage-density applications where a standard 120V or 240V heater would not deliver adequate output.
This Watlow L22J-10406 FIREROD Cartridge Insertion Heater has been inspected and appears to be in good used condition. The stainless steel sheath shows light surface scuffing and minor discoloration consistent with prior service use, as visible in the photos. The model number and 480V / 3500W ratings are clearly laser-etched on the sheath and remain legible. Lead wires are intact with the original connector attached.
