The Uni-Solar PVL-128T is a 128-watt flexible amorphous thin-film solar laminate designed to bond directly to flat and low-slope roofing surfaces using its integrated peel-and-stick adhesive backing — no mounting racks, penetrations, or additional hardware required. It uses triple-junction amorphous silicon cell technology enclosed in a durable ETFE polymer encapsulation, and is UL 1703 listed (UL 3R66) for use in grid-tie and off-grid photovoltaic systems up to 600 VDC. These are new old stock units pulled from an original sealed carton of 30 panels and stored in a climate-controlled warehouse since new. The PVL-128T has been discontinued and is no longer manufactured.

Applications

The PVL-128T belongs to Uni-Solar's PVL laminate series, which was designed to integrate solar generation directly into commercial and residential roofing without any rack-mounting hardware. Because the panel bonds flush to the substrate, it is particularly suited to low-slope flat roofs and standing-seam metal roofing commonly found in commercial construction, where conventional rack-mounted panels are impractical or aesthetically unacceptable. The peel-and-stick ETFE laminate format also makes these panels well suited for RVs, boat decks, truck bodies, and trailer roofs, where light weight and the absence of protruding hardware is important. The panel can be rolled up into a compact form for transport, making it useful for portable and off-grid power generation as well. Because the PVL-128T is UL 1703 listed and carries CE and TUV marks, it qualifies for installation in permitted grid-tie systems on residential and commercial rooftops — an important distinction from non-listed flexible panels, which many jurisdictions do not allow for grid-connected or code-compliant installations. Amorphous silicon cell technology provides better low-light and high-temperature performance relative to standard crystalline silicon, which is an advantage in overcast climates and on heat-retaining metal roofs. Installation must be performed by certified installers on approved substrates per the manufacturer's installation guide.
