The Scientific Atlanta Pegasus XT is a professional broadcast-grade MPEG-2 transport stream re-multiplexer designed for digital headend and distribution applications. It accepts multiple ASI (Asynchronous Serial Interface) input streams, filters and remultiplexes the transport stream content, and outputs a single combined transport stream via ASI and SPI interfaces. The Pegasus XT was developed by Scientific Atlanta (subsequently Cisco) as part of their broadcast headend product line for cable, satellite, and terrestrial digital television facilities.
