The Mitsubishi SD-N50 is a 3-pole magnetic contactor used to switch motor and power circuits on and off via a low-voltage control signal to its coil. Contactors like this are commonly used in motor control centers, machine control panels, and industrial distribution equipment to start, stop, and protect three-phase loads. This unit is paired with a Mitsubishi THN-60 thermal overload relay, forming a standard combination motor starter/protection assembly.

Applications
Magnetic contactors like the SD-N50 are used throughout industrial control panels, motor control centers, and machine tool equipment to energize and de-energize three-phase motors, pumps, compressors, conveyors, and other AC loads. When combined with a thermal overload relay such as the THN-60, the assembly also provides overload protection, tripping the circuit if current draw exceeds the relay's set point. This type of contactor/overload combination is a standard building block in legacy and modern electrical distribution panels, OEM machinery, and industrial automation systems, and remains widely used for maintaining and repairing existing equipment.
This used Mitsubishi SD-N50 magnetic contactor was pulled from a larger control panel. It's rated 50A, 3-pole, with a 220V coil, and includes the Mitsubishi THN-60 thermal overload relay along with the UN-CV500 and UN-CZ501 covers. The clear cover and terminal blocks are in good cosmetic condition, with some wire labels still attached from its prior installation. It has not been bench-tested at our facility.
