Applications

The Keithley 61300 relay I/O system is designed to expand the switching and digital control capabilities of Keithley data acquisition and control platforms. With 24 relay channels, it handles automated switching of signals, power lines, or process outputs under computer or instrument control. The front-panel status indicators — CCD Shutter, Mask Vacuum, Arc Power, and Arc Lamp Shutter — point strongly to use in photolithography or optical alignment systems, where precise sequenced control of shutters, vacuum, and arc lamp sources is required. This type of relay I/O controller was commonly integrated into semiconductor wafer processing, mask aligner, or contact aligner setups in research and production environments during the 1980s and 1990s, where it served as the switching backbone between a host controller and the various electromechanical subsystems of the tool. The included Crydom D2425 solid-state relay adds high-current AC switching capability (up to 25A at 240V) to the system's relay array. The Corcom EMI filter on the AC input provides line-side noise suppression appropriate for sensitive lab and cleanroom environments.
