Benchtop testing apparatus designed for evaluating HDD read/write heads and head stack assemblies. This static head tester was used in Conner Peripherals' manufacturing and quality control operations.

Applications

Static head testers were used to measure electrical parameters of hard drive read/write heads prior to full assembly and field deployment. This unit tested individual head elements and complete head stack assemblies for Conner's desktop and server-class drives. Typical use included resistance, capacitance, and continuity verification of magnetic transducer elements.

This Conner Peripherals Moon Lander II Static Head Tester (P/N 044205) has been inspected and appears to be in good used condition. The unit is being offered as a parts unit. The main chassis and front panel keypad show normal handling wear consistent with lab use. The main PCB (Assy 04750-002, Rev Level 01) and secondary PCB are present and appear intact, with no obvious damage to the boards. Ribbon cables and the M014 head fixture are included.
