Applications

DS3 protection switches are used in telecom and satcom transmission systems to provide automatic failover between redundant transmission paths. The ARG 2400 series supports G.703 standard DS3 circuits commonly deployed in carrier networks and point-to-point microwave systems. It monitors both input paths and automatically switches to the active input while maintaining continuity on Channel 1 during power loss. Alarms are provided via rear DB-15 connector for network management integration.

This ARG 2400 Series G.703 DS3 Protection Switch (2400-EQ49K-BOM) has been inspected and is in good condition. It was pulled from a working environment where it was actively in use. The chassis shows light surface soiling and typical wear consistent with rack-deployed telecom equipment. The front panel indicators, key switch, and rear BNC, alarms, and remote connectors all appear intact. Both IEC power inlets and the dual PSU slots are present.
