The Xunlight XRS18-150 is a 150-watt flexible amorphous silicon solar laminate panel measuring approximately 17 feet long and 18 inches wide. Made in Ohio from 2012 to 2015, these panels use stainless steel flexible solar cells encapsulated in EVA and ETFE — a construction that makes each panel extremely lightweight, rollable, and durable under prolonged outdoor exposure. These are factory 2nds sourced directly from the Xunlight facility, with cosmetic blemishes only and no effect on electrical output. Xunlight has since closed; this is remaining stock of a panel type that is no longer manufactured.

Applications

Amorphous silicon thin-film panels like the XRS18 series are well suited to off-grid and portable power applications where flexibility and light weight matter more than maximum panel efficiency. Unlike rigid crystalline silicon panels, amorphous panels can conform to curved surfaces — the XRS18's rollable form factor makes it a practical fit for RV roofs, boat decks, trailer tops, and van conversions where a rigid panel would be impractical to mount or store. Amorphous silicon also performs relatively better than crystalline silicon in low-light and diffuse conditions, which can be an advantage in overcast climates or partially shaded installations. The XRS18 series was designed for 12V and 24V battery charging systems common in marine, RV, and remote off-grid setups. Because Xunlight used stainless steel substrates and an ETFE outer surface, these panels were built for long outdoor exposure — ETFE is chemically resistant, UV-stable, and self-cleaning to a degree. With Xunlight no longer in business, this style of long, narrow, rollable amorphous laminate is no longer in production, making these panels of particular interest to buyers working with legacy systems or looking for a low-profile flexible solution.
