Applications

Used in 1990s-era IBM AT and compatible systems for local area network connectivity. The dual connectors allowed connection to either 10Base2 (thin coaxial cable) or 10Base5 (thick coaxial cable) Ethernet infrastructure. Typical deployment in office and industrial networks of that period before the transition to 10BaseT twisted-pair cabling.
