Description

AT Power Supply 200W 230W 250W Desktop PC Vintage Computer Lot of 3

This listing is for a lot of three generic AT form factor power supplies rated at 200, 230, or 250 watts (wattage varies per unit). All three were pulled from working desktop computers and have been bench-tested at our facility. AT power supplies use a two-connector motherboard harness (P8/P9) and were the standard internal power format for IBM-compatible desktop PCs before the ATX standard took over in the mid-to-late 1990s.

  • Form factor: AT
  • Output power: 200W, 230W, or 250W (varies per unit in the lot)
  • Motherboard connector: AT-style P8/P9 (two 6-pin connectors)
  • Peripheral connectors: Molex 4-pin (drive power) and Berg mini 4-pin (floppy)

Applications

AT power supplies were the dominant desktop PC power standard from the early 1980s through the late 1990s, used in IBM PC/XT, PC/AT, 286, 386, 486, and early Pentium-class machines. They differ from the modern ATX standard in that the power-on/off function is handled by a hard-wired mechanical switch rather than a soft power signal from the motherboard. These units are useful for maintaining or restoring vintage IBM-compatible desktop computers, building retro PC systems, or as direct replacements in any AT-chassis machine. The AT form factor has been superseded by ATX but remains in demand for legacy hardware repair and retro computing projects.
