Description
Custom Vacuum Chuck Assembly Steel Block Linear Bearing Pneumatic 23x21cm Al Base
This is a custom-built vacuum chuck assembly designed for precision workholding using pneumatic vacuum actuation. The assembly combines a flat ground steel block, a linear bearing for smooth lateral movement, micrometer adjustment screws for fine positioning, and a lever-style toggle clamp arm — all mounted on a rigid aluminum base plate. Pneumatic spanner switches on either side control vacuum line actuation. A label reading what appears to be a part or lot identifier is visible on the toggle clamp bridge.

Applications
Vacuum chuck assemblies of this type are used to hold flat workpieces — such as semiconductor wafers, glass substrates, ceramic tiles, or thin metal blanks — securely in place during precision machining, grinding, lapping, inspection, or processing operations. The combination of pneumatic vacuum actuation and a linear bearing allows the workpiece to be positioned with fine control and then locked down without mechanical clamps that could damage delicate surfaces. Micrometer screws provide repeatable fine adjustment of the chuck or workpiece position along an axis. This style of custom fixture is common in semiconductor fabrication shops, precision optics grinding, and advanced manufacturing environments where consistent flatness and positional accuracy are critical. The toggle clamp arm provides a quick-release mechanical hold in addition to the pneumatic vacuum, a common arrangement for process reliability during tool changes or substrate loading.
This custom vacuum chuck assembly has been inspected and is in good used condition overall. The flat ground steel block, linear bearing, pneumatic spanner switches, and toggle clamp mechanism are all present and intact. Note that one micrometer dial is missing. The aluminum base plate shows light surface wear consistent with prior use. Please view our photo set and contact us if you have any questions.
