Applications
The YSI 2700 series was designed for clinical and research laboratory use, where rapid, accurate measurement of glucose and lactate is needed from small sample volumes. The 2700-S Select was widely used in hospital clinical chemistry labs, sports medicine and exercise physiology research, bioprocess and fermentation monitoring, and food and beverage quality control. The enzyme electrode method gives fast results without requiring reagent reagent kits in the way traditional photometric analyzers do. Dating from the early-to-mid 1990s, the 2700-S was a common workhorse instrument in labs that needed a dedicated, reliable glucose/lactate measurement platform. The YSI 2700 series instruments remain in demand among labs running legacy methods or working with smaller budgets, and membranes and reagents for the platform continue to be available through YSI and third-party suppliers.
This YSI 2700-S Select Biochemistry Analyzer has been pulled from a working laboratory environment where it was previously in active use. The unit has been visually inspected and photographed inside and out. Photos show the LCD display and setup menu, and the built-in thermal printer has a printed output receipt visible, consistent with prior use. The exterior shows typical light wear from lab use. Internal PCBs and fluidics components appear intact and complete. Reagent bottles (waste, buffer, and biohazard) are included as shown.
