This is a Volpi fiber optic flex light cable with an integrated objective ring mount, designed to deliver focused illumination directly around the objective lens of a stereo or inspection microscope. The flexible armored gray cable connects a fiber optic bundle from an external illuminator to the ring mount, which sits around the microscope objective and floods the specimen with even, shadow-free light. The ring and cable are made in the USA by Volpi, a well-regarded Swiss-American manufacturer of fiber optic illumination components for laboratory and industrial microscopy.

Applications

This Volpi fiber optic microscope ring light cable is in good used condition. It does not include a light source or illuminator — the ring was lit in one of our photos purely to show that the fiber optic bundle transmits light; a compatible illuminator will need to be sourced separately.
