Applications

The companion 5590 model served as a continuous oxygen monitor, while the 5595 was the portable analyzer version of the same platform. Hudson RCI (Hudson Respiratory Care Inc.) was a major manufacturer of respiratory therapy equipment in the 1970s and 1980s, and the Ventronics Division produced their electronic monitoring instruments. These analyzers date from the early-to-mid 1980s era of analog/early-digital medical gas monitoring. Similar electrochemical or paramagnetic oxygen analyzers remain in use in clinical and industrial gas applications today, though this specific vintage model has been superseded by more modern instruments.
