Applications

TWTAs of this type are used in satellite communication ground stations for uplink signal amplification. The C-Band 5.9–6.4 GHz range covers standard fixed satellite service (FSS) uplink frequencies. This amplifier was deployed in commercial and government satcom earth stations where high gain and wide bandwidth were required for transmission to orbiting satellites.

Condition: For Parts or Not Working
This Varian VZC6961D7G1 Traveling Wave Tube Amplifier (TWTA) has been inspected and appears to be in good physical condition, but it has not been tested at our facility. We are selling it AS-IS for parts or repair with no guarantee of functionality. The top cover is removed, exposing the internal components, which appear intact — the TWT tube, high-voltage module, internal RF module (P/N 113798-03), and PCB assemblies are all present and show no obvious physical damage. The front panel indicators, switches, helix current meter, and RF gain adjustment knob are all present. The rear waveguide RF output and SMA RF input connectors are visible and appear undamaged.
