Channel select sub-system from Varian's microwave equipment division. Controls RF channel selection in satellite and microwave communication systems using two 24VDC Pittman gear motors with different reduction ratios.

Applications

Channel select sub-systems were used in Varian satellite and microwave communication platforms to mechanically switch between RF channels. The dual motor configuration with different gear ratios provided stepped tuning and selection control. These systems saw use in ground station and terrestrial microwave equipment from the 1980s through 2000s.

Condition: Used
This Varian VJW1454C Channel Select Sub-System has been inspected and is in good used condition. It was pulled from a working environment where it was in active use. The black cylindrical housing is intact with normal surface wear; the top-mounted coaxial connectors and 25-pin D-Sub interface connector are present and show no obvious damage.
