Description
Technical Devices Mark I-C Wave Soldering Machine PCB 115VAC 1-Phase 60Hz 40A
The Technical Devices Mark I-C is a tabletop wave soldering machine built by Technical Devices Company (a subsidiary of Banner Industries Inc.) of Culver City, California. First designed in 1969, the Mark I series uses a continuous solder wave to solder through-hole components to printed circuit boards as they travel along a conveyor. The machine features a 10-inch wide solder wave, an integrated conveyor system, a solder pot, and an exhaust hood.

Applications
Wave soldering machines of this type are used in PCB (printed circuit board) assembly to solder through-hole electronic components in a single automated pass. A PCB is fluxed, preheated, and then conveyed over a standing wave of molten solder, which wets and solders all through-hole joints simultaneously — a process far faster and more consistent than hand soldering. The Mark I series was introduced in the late 1960s at the height of through-hole electronics manufacturing, when wave soldering was becoming the production standard for assembling consumer electronics, industrial controls, and telecommunications equipment. Machines of this era and type continue to be used in low-volume production, repair shops, educational electronics programs, and by hobbyists producing small-run through-hole boards. The tabletop form factor made the Mark I well suited to prototype labs and small production lines that could not justify a full inline conveyor system.
This Technical Devices Mark I-C Wave Soldering Machine has not been powered up or tested at our facility, but it was reported by the previous operator to have been in working condition when removed from service. The solder pot is loaded with solder (visible in photos). Photos show significant flux and solder residue buildup in the pot area, which is typical for a machine of this age and type. The machine shows general wear consistent with industrial use over many years. Please review all photos carefully and contact us with any questions before purchasing.
