Applications
I/O Partner Cards were used in Sun SPARC workstations and servers to add or consolidate peripheral connectivity. These cards supported attachment of SCSI storage devices, network connections via Ethernet, serial peripherals, and PS/2 keyboard and mouse input. They were common in 1990s-era Sun systems where modular I/O expansion was required.

This Sun Microsystems 0-00396 I/O Partner Card has been inspected and is in good used condition. The card was pulled from a working environment where it was in active use and functional. Cosmetically, the board and bracket show light surface wear consistent with normal service life. The PCB traces, connectors, and solder joints appear intact and undamaged. The part number and revision (P/N 0-00396 REV.06) are clearly legible on the board.
