Stahlin J1614HW Solar Combiner Box NEMA 4X Fiberglass 11-Circuit 30A USM1

The Stahlin J1614HW is a NEMA 4X rated fiberglass enclosure configured as a solar PV combiner box, pre-fitted with 11 Ferraz Shawmut ULTRASAFE USM1 30-amp circuit breaker holders on a DIN rail interior panel. Made from hot compression molded fiberglass reinforced polyester, the J1614HW carries a UL Listed C rating for industrial control panel use. The enclosure is manufactured in the USA by Stahlin Enclosures, a division of Robroy Industries, in Belding, Michigan.

Applications

Solar PV combiner boxes bring together multiple solar array strings into a single output feed, protecting each string with its own overcurrent device before the combined DC output runs to the inverter. The Stahlin J1614HW is used in residential, commercial, and light industrial photovoltaic installations where a weather-resistant, corrosion-proof enclosure is required — the NEMA 4X fiberglass construction makes it well suited for rooftop, ground-mount, and outdoor pad-mount applications exposed to rain, humidity, and UV. The Ferraz Shawmut ULTRASAFE USM1 holders accept standard cylindrical solar fuses, providing per-string overcurrent protection and a safe fuse-pull mechanism for maintenance without live exposure. This type of combiner box is standard balance-of-system (BOS) hardware in PV arrays of all sizes and remains in active use across the solar industry today.
