SoloPower SP3L-220 220W Flexible Solar Panel ETFE MC4 RV Boat Battery Charging
The SoloPower SP3L-220 is a 220-watt flexible thin-film solar panel using ETFE (Ethylene Tetrafluoroethylene) encapsulation over a CIGS photovoltaic cell layer. At just 2mm thick and 13.2 lbs, it is dramatically lighter and thinner than conventional glass-framed crystalline silicon panels. The panel rolls up for storage and transport in a cylindrical tube, and can be mounted to curved or irregular surfaces without penetrating fasteners.

Applications
Flexible ETFE thin-film panels like the SP3L-220 are designed for installations where a conventional rigid glass panel is impractical. The most common uses are RV rooftops (where the curved profile and low weight avoid the need for roof penetrations), boat decks and cabin tops, camper vans, and portable off-grid battery charging setups. The 65.1V Vmp makes this panel well suited for 48V battery bank charging via an MPPT charge controller, or for series/parallel strings in larger off-grid arrays. CIGS thin-film technology also performs comparatively better than monocrystalline silicon in diffuse light and partial shading conditions, which can be an advantage in marine and overcast environments. SoloPower was a US-based thin-film solar manufacturer active in the 2010s, and the SP3L series was their commercial flexible rooftop product line, certified to UL 1703 and built for lightweight structural applications.

These panels have been stored in and outdoors over time, so the ETFE surface and edge trim may show minor storage wear, and the border color or cell appearance may vary slightly from the photos.
