The Solopower SP1 is a 60-watt flexible thin-film solar panel built on CIGS (Copper Indium Gallium Selenide) photovoltaic technology. Unlike rigid glass-substrate panels, this panel rolls up to roughly 10–12 inches in diameter, making it straightforward to store and transport. It connects via standard MC4 connectors and needs no special mounting hardware — unroll it and it's ready to use. At under 5 lbs, it is among the lightest full-size 60W panels available.

Applications

Flexible rollable CIGS panels like the SP1 are used wherever a rigid framed panel won't fit or would be too heavy — RV rooftops, boat decks, van conversions, camper shells, and portable off-grid charging setups. The MC4 connector standard is compatible with the vast majority of charge controllers and portable power stations on the market, so the SP1 drops into most existing 12V or 24V systems without adapters. CIGS thin-film technology performs better than crystalline silicon under low-light and diffuse conditions, which makes it a practical choice for marine and overcast environments. These panels were manufactured at Solopower's Portland, Oregon factory before the company ceased operations in 2016. They have not been in production since, and remaining new-condition stock is genuinely scarce — this is one of the last opportunities to purchase an unused SP1.
