The SoloPower SP1-95 is a flexible, lightweight thin-film solar panel built on CIGS (Copper Indium Gallium Selenide) photovoltaic technology. At just 0.1 inches thick and 4.6 lbs, it generates 95 watts from a long, narrow profile — 86.5 inches long by 15.7 inches wide — making it well suited for rooftop surfaces where conventional rigid glass panels won't work. The panel terminates in standard MC4 connectors for easy integration into common solar wiring systems.

Applications
SoloPower's SP1 series was designed specifically for commercial and residential low-slope rooftops where structural load limits, roof membrane compatibility, or aesthetics rule out conventional framed glass panels. The flexible polymer construction lets the panel conform slightly to curved or uneven roof surfaces, and the extremely low roof load — under half a pound per square foot — means it can go on roofs that could not support heavier crystalline modules. The CIGS thin-film cell chemistry performs comparatively well under diffuse light and high-temperature conditions relative to standard monocrystalline silicon, which is useful on rooftops with heat build-up. SoloPower produced the SP1 series at their San Jose, California facility in the early 2010s, positioning it as a building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) alternative for flat commercial roofs. The standard MC4 connectors mean it strings directly with other MC4-compatible modules and inverters without special adapters.
