Applications
The RealMagic series was widely used in 1990s-era personal computers and workstations for MPEG video playback, common in video editing suites, multimedia workstations, and systems requiring real-time MPEG decoding. This card offloads video decompression from the CPU, enabling smooth playback of MPEG-encoded content on machines with limited processor resources. Compatible with legacy ISA-based systems running DOS, Windows 3.x, Windows 95, Windows 98, and early Windows NT environments.
This Sigma Designs RealMagic 53-000417 ISA MPEG Decoder Card has been inspected and appears to be in good used condition. The PCB is clean with no visible damage, cracked traces, or broken components. The bracket shows minor surface scuffing consistent with previous installation, and the edge connector contacts appear intact. The 8-pin Mini-DIN port and DB15 VGA output connector on the bracket are present and undamaged, with a 3.5mm audio jack also visible.
