Description
Samsung MR16R0828BN1-CK8 128MB PC800-45 RDRAM RIMM 184-pin Intel Pentium 4
The Samsung MR16R0828BN1-CK8 is a 128MB PC800-45 RDRAM (Rambus DRAM) module in the 184-pin RIMM form factor. Manufactured in Korea (date code 0139H — early 2001), this module runs at 800 MHz with a 45-nanosecond latency and is covered by Samsung's characteristic metallic heat spreader, which is standard on RDRAM modules due to their higher operating temperatures compared to SDRAM.

Applications
RDRAM (Rambus DRAM) was developed by Rambus Inc. and brought to the PC mainstream by Intel in the late 1990s and early 2000s as the memory technology for the Pentium 4 platform. Systems using Intel's 850 and 850E chipsets required RIMM modules exclusively, and this PC800-45 spec was the standard speed grade for those boards. RDRAM used a narrow, high-speed serial channel running at 800 MHz — significantly faster than contemporary SDRAM — but required that all RIMM slots be populated, using blank "C-RIMM" continuity modules in empty slots to maintain the channel. This module is compatible with Intel Pentium 4 desktop systems using 850/850E chipset motherboards, as well as Xeon workstation platforms of the same era that supported PC800 RDRAM. The technology was largely phased out by 2003–2004 as DDR SDRAM overtook it in both cost and performance, making working PC800 RDRAM modules increasingly scarce for those maintaining or restoring Pentium 4-era systems.
This Samsung MR16R0828BN1-CK8 128MB PC800-45 RDRAM RIMM memory module has been tested at our facility and is in good working condition. The module's heat spreader is intact and the 184-pin gold edge connector shows normal contact wear with no bent pins or damage. Overall cosmetic condition is good for a used module.
