Applications

The PictureTel LAMB-1 remote was designed for use with PictureTel room-based video conferencing systems — the kind of dedicated rollabout and conference room units that were widely deployed in corporate, educational, and government settings during the 1990s and early 2000s. PictureTel was one of the pioneering names in commercial videoconferencing before the company was acquired by Polycom in 2001. The LAMB-1's "Look at Me" button was a feature unique to PictureTel systems, allowing a presenter to send a visual alert to the far-end site. These remotes are still sought after by organizations maintaining legacy PictureTel systems or needing a replacement for an existing installation.
