MTE RL-00201 RL Series 3-Phase Line Load Reactor 12mH 2A 600V VFD Filter
The MTE RL-00201 is a three-phase line/load reactor from MTE's RL Series, rated at 12.0 mH inductance, 2A continuous current (Ith 3A), and 600V maximum. It is an open-frame, IP20-rated inductor designed to be wired in series with a variable frequency drive (VFD) on either the line (input) side or the load (output) side. The unit uses a six-terminal screw block (A1-A2, B1-B2, C1-C2) with pre-attached white lead wires and a blue laminated steel core in a three-column coil construction.

Applications
Three-phase line/load reactors like the MTE RL-00201 are standard power quality components used in VFD (variable frequency drive) installations. When installed on the input (line) side of a VFD, a reactor limits harmonic current distortion fed back into the power distribution system and protects the drive from incoming voltage spikes and transients. On the output (load) side, it reduces the effects of long motor lead cables — such as reflected voltage wave phenomena — that can stress motor insulation on installations where the cable run between the drive and motor is extended. The RL Series is a common choice in industrial automation, pump and fan control, HVAC systems, and conveyor applications where VFDs are paired with three-phase AC induction motors. At 2A and 12mH, the RL-00201 is suited for small-horsepower VFD applications. This reactor dates from the era of widespread VFD adoption in industrial controls, and MTE reactors remain a well-established product line in the power quality field.
This MTE RL-00201 RL Series 3-Phase Line Load Reactor has been inspected and appears to be in good used condition. The blue painted core and housing show moderate wear including paint chips, scuffing, and surface corrosion, most notably on the bottom base plate and mounting feet — visible in our photos. The terminal block and lead wires are intact; some wire tips show minor insulation wear at the ends. The three coil columns and laminated core appear structurally sound with no visible damage.
