The Microdyne 1400-MR is a modular FM/PM telemetry receiver designed for professional ground-station data acquisition. This unit is equipped with two plug-in modules and has one empty slot (Slot A).

Applications

The Microdyne 1400-MR is a ground-station telemetry receiver from the 1990s, used in aerospace, military, and range telemetry programs to receive, demodulate, and process FM and PCM data from airborne platforms including missiles, rockets, UAVs, and test aircraft. The 1400 series was widely used at government test ranges, defense contractors, and research institutions that needed a flexible, plug-in-based receiver architecture to accommodate different mission frequencies and bandwidths without replacing the entire receiver chassis. The 1411-VT(70) RF tuner targets the 50–90 MHz IRIG telemetry band, and the 1420-I IF filter amplifier sets the IF bandwidth for the demodulated signal. These receivers were standard equipment at facilities adhering to IRIG (Inter-Range Instrumentation Group) telemetry standards. Today, 1400-MR systems remain in service at legacy test facilities, and plug-in modules are sought individually for maintenance of existing 1400-series installations.
