Description
Madge Blue+ 16/4 ISA Token Ring Network Card 152-330-01 RJ-45 DB9
The Madge Blue+ 16/4 is an ISA bus Token Ring network adapter card supporting both 4 Mbps and 16 Mbps Token Ring speeds. Manufactured by Madge Networks in the United Kingdom, it connects a PC to an IEEE 802.5 Token Ring LAN via either an RJ-45 (UTP) or DB9 (STP/IBM Type 1) interface. The card carries Madge's "Straight Blue" lineage and is silkscreen-labeled "BLUE+ 16/4 ISA" on the PCB.

Applications
Madge Blue+ 16/4 ISA cards were used to connect IBM-compatible PCs to Token Ring local area networks, which were widely deployed in corporate and institutional environments from the mid-1980s through the late 1990s. Token Ring was IBM's preferred LAN technology for connecting PCs, IBM PS/2s, and terminals to mainframe and AS/400 networks, and Madge Networks was one of the dominant third-party suppliers of Token Ring adapters during that era. These cards were common in banking, government, healthcare, and large enterprise environments where IBM networking infrastructure was standard. The ISA form factor places this card squarely in the early-to-mid 1990s generation of desktop computing, when ISA was the dominant PC expansion bus before PCI became ubiquitous. Today these cards are sought after for legacy Token Ring network maintenance, vintage IBM PC restoration, and retro computing projects where period-correct ISA Token Ring connectivity is required. Driver support exists for MS-DOS, Windows 3.x, Windows 95/98, Windows NT, OS/2, and Novell NetWare environments.
This Madge Blue+ 16/4 ISA Token Ring Network Card (MPN 152-330-01) has been inspected and appears to be in good used condition. The PCB is clean with no visible damage, broken traces, or missing components. The bracket, RJ-45 port, and DB9 connector all look intact. Normal light handling marks are present consistent with prior installation and removal. Made in UK per the label. Card only — no drivers, software, or accessories are included. Please view our photo set and contact us if you have any questions. Please note: We have multiple units in stock — yours may not be the one shown in the photos, however, it will be similar in condition and function.
