Applications
The PDISO-8 (Programmable Digital I/O with Isolation, 8-channel) is part of the Metrabyte family of PC-based data acquisition and control cards that were widely used in laboratory automation, industrial test systems, and process control from the late 1980s through the 1990s. The card allows a standard ISA-bus PC to switch or sense external digital signals through relay-isolated outputs — useful for controlling solenoids, indicator lights, alarms, or other low-voltage switching loads in automated test equipment (ATE) setups. Keithley acquired Metrabyte in the early 1990s and continued the product line under the Keithley Metrabyte brand. These cards are still sought by engineers maintaining legacy ISA-based test systems, LabVIEW or DOS-era ATE rigs, and industrial PC platforms that require relay-output I/O expansion. The 37-pin D-Sub interface was a common breakout format for Metrabyte cards, and compatible screw-terminal breakout boards are available from several third-party suppliers.
This Keithley Metrabyte PDISO-8 PC7082 ISA Digital I/O Relay Card has been inspected and is in good condition. It was pulled from a working Metrabyte test system where it was actively in use and functional. The PCB is clean with no visible damage, the relay array and D-Sub connector are intact, and the bracket is straight. Normal light handling wear is present.
