In-circuit emulator (ICE) designed for debugging and testing Intel iAPX 80186 and iAPX 80188 16-bit microprocessors. This benchtop system was used for real-time code development and hardware validation during embedded system design.

Applications
In-circuit emulators were standard development tools for 16-bit microprocessor design work from the 1980s through 1990s. The III515 supported debugging of embedded systems, firmware development, and hardware-software integration testing for iAPX 186/188-based industrial and telecom applications. Used in conjunction with development boards and host systems to provide real-time code execution monitoring and breakpoint control.

Due to its age — this is vintage early-1980s Intel development equipment — we cannot confirm functionality and are listing it accordingly. The main chassis shows general age-related wear consistent with its era. The emulator pod, ribbon cable (PB 165445-001), and fabric-wrapped accessories (Intel 166504-001 Rev A, 165502-001) are included as shown in our photos.
