Description
Intel EtherExpress 16 ISA LAN Adapter 306451 RJ45 AUI 8/16-Bit Network Card
The Intel EtherExpress 16 (part number 306451) is a 16-bit ISA Ethernet network interface card designed for ISA-bus personal computers. It connects a host PC to a 10 Mbps Ethernet network via either a 10Base-T RJ45 port or a 10Base-5 AUI (DB15) port, allowing connection to both twisted-pair and thick-coax Ethernet segments. The board carries an Intel main controller IC and a Valor FL1020-001 isolation transformer, and is labeled to support the PCLA8110, PCLA8115, and PCLA8120 driver series.

Applications
The Intel EtherExpress 16 belongs to the family of ISA Ethernet adapters that were standard networking hardware throughout the late 1980s and into the mid-1990s, when ISA was the dominant expansion bus in IBM-compatible PCs. Cards like this one were used to connect 286, 386, 486, and early Pentium-class desktop machines to 10Base-T twisted-pair or 10Base-5 thick-coax Ethernet LANs in offices, schools, and small businesses running DOS, Windows 3.x, Windows for Workgroups, OS/2, and early Windows NT. The dual RJ45/AUI connector made the EtherExpress 16 especially versatile: the AUI port could drive a transceiver for coax or fiber segments, while the RJ45 handled modern patch-cable connections to hubs and switches. Today these cards are sought by collectors and by maintainers of vintage PC systems, DOS-era network labs, and legacy industrial/embedded systems that still run on ISA-bus hardware and require period-correct network drivers.
This Intel EtherExpress 16 ISA LAN Adapter (part# 306451) is in good used condition. The card was pulled from a working environment and has not been powered up or tested at our facility. The PCB is clean with no visible corrosion, and the ISA edge connector gold contacts appear in good shape. The AUI (DB15) and RJ45 bracket ports show normal handling wear consistent with prior installation and removal. Please view our photo set and contact us if you have any questions.
