Applications
The HP 8620C sweep oscillator mainframe was developed by Hewlett-Packard as the signal source component of scalar and vector network analyzer systems. Paired with plug-ins covering various microwave frequency bands, the 8620C provided swept RF stimulus for measuring the transmission and reflection characteristics of two-port microwave components such as filters, amplifiers, mixers, and attenuators. It was commonly used with HP scalar network analyzers such as the HP 8757 series and HP 8410 vector network analyzer systems in RF and microwave component test laboratories, defense electronics, and telecommunications development environments. The 8620 series remains sought after by labs maintaining legacy HP network analyzer setups and by technicians testing microwave components in the C- through X-band frequency range.
