Description
HP 10833B HPIB GPIB IEEE-488 Cable 2m 6.6ft Agilent Keysight 80673-020
The HP 10833B is a genuine Hewlett-Packard HPIB/GPIB instrument bus cable, 2 meters (6.6 feet) in length, fitted with 24-pin Centronics-style GPIB connectors on both ends. It carries the HP part number 80673-020 and bears the HP logo on both connector housings. This is a standard-length cable for connecting GPIB-equipped test and measurement instruments in a bench or rack configuration.

Applications
GPIB (General Purpose Interface Bus), also known as HPIB, IEEE-488, or IEC-625, is a parallel instrument bus originally developed by Hewlett-Packard in the late 1960s and standardized as IEEE-488 in 1975. It became the dominant interface for connecting test and measurement instruments — oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, multimeters, power supplies, and counters — to computers and controllers in automated test systems. A single GPIB bus supports up to 15 devices, and cables like the 10833B are used to daisy-chain instruments together or connect them to a GPIB controller card in a PC or workstation. Despite its age, GPIB remains in active use today in laboratory, production-test, and calibration environments worldwide, particularly with legacy HP, Agilent, and Keysight instruments that predate USB and LAN connectivity. The 2-meter 10833B is the most common length for benchtop setups where instruments sit close together. Keysight (the current successor to Agilent and HP's test division) continues to manufacture and support GPIB-equipped instruments, keeping demand for quality GPIB cables strong in both active labs and legacy maintenance applications.
This HP 10833B HPIB/GPIB IEEE-488 cable has been inspected and is in good used condition. It was pulled from a working lab environment where it was actively in service. Both 24-pin Centronics connector housings are intact with no cracks or damage, the thumb-screw locking hardware on both ends is present and functional, and the cable jacket shows normal handling wear consistent with lab use. No cuts, kinks, or exposed conductors are visible. Please view our photos and contact us with any questions.
