Description
Gene Mate HO6000V Hybridization Oven Bellco Glass Rotating Bottle Lab
The Gene Mate HO6000V is a benchtop hybridization oven designed for molecular biology workflows including DNA and RNA hybridization, Southern blotting, Northern blotting, and similar probe-based assays. It features a motorized rotating bottle and tube rack inside a stainless steel chamber, allowing uniform, continuous agitation of hybridization bottles or tubes throughout an incubation run. A large clear front door provides a full view of the chamber interior and the rotating rack during operation.

Applications
Hybridization ovens are standard equipment in molecular biology and genomics laboratories. They are used to incubate membrane blots — such as Southern, Northern, and Western blots — and hybridization bottles with labeled probes at precise, stable temperatures, typically in the 42°C–68°C range depending on the probe and stringency conditions. The rotating rack keeps hybridization solution continuously moving against the membrane or sample, improving probe distribution and reducing background signal. These ovens are also used for colony hybridization, in situ hybridization, and other temperature-controlled agitation applications. The HO6000V, manufactured by Gene Mate (a brand associated with ISC BioExpress) with a Bellco Glass digital controller, dates from the late 1990s to early 2000s and remains fully usable in any lab requiring controlled-temperature rotating incubation. It is a common find in university research labs, hospital research departments, and biotech facilities maintaining legacy molecular biology workflows.
This Gene Mate HO6000V Hybridization Oven has been inspected and appears to be in good used condition. The unit was pulled from a working laboratory environment where it was previously in service. The exterior housing shows light cosmetic wear consistent with normal lab use. The rotating bottle rack and stainless interior are present and intact as seen in the photos, and the Bellco Glass digital temperature controller is visible and displayed readings during photography. It has not been powered up or tested at our facility. Please view our photo set and contact us if you have any questions.
