Open-frame RF waveguide ground test assembly manufactured by General Electric for satellite communications microwave testing. Multi-subassembly unit with Airtron waveguide switches and integrated RF measurement indicators for forward and reverse power monitoring.

Applications

Ground test units of this type were used in satellite communications infrastructure for RF signal measurement and waveguide switching during equipment commissioning and maintenance. The EM-1 assembly supported microwave frequency testing in satcom earth station and terminal equipment. Airtron waveguide switches provided RF signal routing and isolation for multi-path test configurations common in satellite uplink and downlink verification procedures.

Condition: Used
This GE EM-1 RF Ground Test Unit waveguide assembly has been inspected and appears to be in good used condition. The unit is an open-frame assembly with multiple GE subassemblies, Airtron waveguide switches, and a Hexcel bonded structure enclosure manufactured January 31, 1977. The chassis and gold-anodized enclosure show age-appropriate patina and light oxidation consistent with a 1970s-era aerospace/satcom assembly. Several of the green circuit board subassemblies show surface oxidation on their copper traces and edge contacts, visible in the photos. The waveguide and RF hardware components appear intact and undamaged. Wiring harnesses are present and connected.
