Built by Flexion Corporation of Santa Barbara, CA, the system integrates a turbomolecular vacuum pump, precision temperature control, vacuum gauging, and a sample positioning stage into a single self-contained cabinet. This station is being sold AS-IS for parts or refurbishment — it has not been tested at our facility and no functionality is guaranteed.

Applications
Cryotest stations like the Flexion MP-3 are used in semiconductor research, device physics, and materials science to characterize the electrical, optical, and mechanical behavior of components at low temperatures — typically ranging from near liquid helium temperatures (4 K) up to room temperature. The turbomolecular pump evacuates the sample chamber to high vacuum before cooling begins, both to achieve the low temperatures required and to eliminate condensation and contamination on the device under test. Lake Shore Cryotronics temperature controllers and sensor selectors were the industry-standard instruments for cryogenic measurement in research and QA labs during the 1980s and 1990s, and are still supported and used in labs today. Granville-Phillips vacuum gauges provided reliable pressure monitoring at the vacuum levels needed for cryogenic work. Systems of this type were used in university research labs, national laboratories, and industrial semiconductor quality testing environments. A station in this configuration — with integrated temperature control, vacuum gauging, and sample positioning — represents a significant infrastructure asset for any lab that needs to refurbish or build out a cryogenic characterization capability.
This Flexion MP-3 Cryotest Station is being sold AS-IS for parts or refurbishment. We were unable to test it at our facility and make no claims about its functionality. The system has been visually inspected and appears to be in good cosmetic condition overall. All major subcomponents are present, including the cryostat chamber with feedthrough positioners, Lake Shore DRC-81C temperature controller, Lake Shore SW-10A sensor selector, Granville-Phillips GP-270 gauge controller, Leybold-Heraeus Turbotronik NT 150/360 power supply, and Hitachi CRT monitor.
