Description
DX Antenna DSA-543 C-Band RF Down Converter 3.7-4.2GHz to 950-1450MHz Satcom
The DX Antenna DSA-543 is a C-Band RF down converter designed to receive signals from geostationary C-Band satellites. It accepts an input signal in the 3.7 to 4.2 GHz C-Band range and converts it to a lower intermediate frequency output in the 950 to 1450 MHz range, making it compatible with standard satellite receiver equipment. The unit is housed in a rugged die-cast aluminum weatherproof enclosure and is powered directly over the coaxial cable via DC injection (+15 to +24 VDC), a standard arrangement in outdoor satellite head-end installations. Manufactured by DX Antenna Co., Ltd. in Japan.

Applications
C-Band down converters like the DSA-543 are a core component in satellite ground station receive chains, converting the high-frequency C-Band downlink signal (3.7–4.2 GHz) collected at a parabolic dish antenna into a lower L-Band IF signal (950–1450 MHz) that can be carried over standard coaxial cable to indoor satellite receivers. C-Band satellite reception was the dominant technology for direct satellite reception in the 1980s and 1990s, widely used at broadcast facilities, cable TV head-ends, TVRO (television receive-only) earth stations, and teleport facilities. C-Band remains in active use today for broadcast distribution, news gathering, and commercial satellite communications, particularly in regions where Ku-Band coverage is limited or where larger dishes are already installed. The DSA-543's outdoor weatherproof housing makes it suitable for direct LNB-position mounting on a dish feedhorn assembly. This unit is typical of the high-quality Japanese-manufactured satcom hardware of its era and remains compatible with standard C-Band satellite receivers accepting a 950–1450 MHz IF input.
This DX Antenna DSA-543 C-Band RF Down Converter has been inspected and is in good used condition. It was pulled from a working satellite installation where it was in active use. The die-cast aluminum enclosure shows light surface wear and minor scuffing consistent with outdoor installation, but there is no cracking, corrosion, or damage to the housing. Both the input N-type connector on top and the output connector on the bottom are intact and undamaged. The label is clean and fully legible.
