This shelf assembly (P/N 800-07149-02, revision C0; PCB 73-5262-01 C0) is a fully populated 17-slot chassis loaded with a mix of line cards covering Ethernet, OC-3, DS3, DS1, cross-connect, and timing/control functions. The ONS 15454 was Cisco's flagship metro optical platform, widely deployed in CLEC, ILEC, and enterprise core networks for SONET ring and linear transport, TDM aggregation, and multiservice provisioning.

Applications
The Cisco ONS 15454 is a carrier-grade multiservice provisioning platform (MSPP) used in metropolitan area SONET/SDH transport networks. It aggregates TDM (DS1, DS3), optical (OC-3, OC-12, OC-48), and Ethernet traffic over a single shelf, making it a central node in CLEC, ILEC, and enterprise WAN cores. The TCC+ cards handle SONET timing, craft interface, and system control; XCVT cards provide cross-connect and virtual tributary switching; OC3/OC3IR cards terminate OC-3 optical spans; DS3 and DS1 cards interface legacy TDM circuits; and E100T cards bridge Ethernet services over the SONET fabric. Deployed widely through the late 1990s and 2000s, the ONS 15454 remains in service in legacy carrier and enterprise networks that have not yet fully migrated to packet-optical platforms. This shelf is suited for sparing existing ONS 15454 deployments, lab/test environments, or network training use.

It was pulled from a working telecom environment where it was previously in active use. The enclosure, backplane connector matrix, and all installed line cards appear intact and show normal wear consistent with rack-deployed equipment.
