The Cisco C4500 is a modular router chassis from the Cisco 4000 Series — a line of fixed-configuration and modular WAN/LAN routers designed for branch office and enterprise edge connectivity. This chassis comes with two installed network interface modules and an AC power supply, providing 10BaseT Ethernet, serial WAN, and T1/PRI uplink capability out of the box.

Applications

The Cisco 4000 Series routers were introduced in the early-to-mid 1990s as modular branch office routers, supporting a range of WAN technologies including T1/PRI, serial leased lines, Frame Relay, and 10BaseT Ethernet LAN segments. They ran Cisco IOS and were widely deployed in enterprise branch offices and campus networks where SNMP management, WAN aggregation, and modular expansion were required. The 4000 Series was eventually superseded by the Cisco 3600 and 2600 Series, making these units largely legacy equipment today. They remain of interest to Cisco IOS labs, network training environments, and collectors of classic Cisco hardware. This chassis — with its 10BaseT Ethernet and T1/PRI capability — is representative of the type of WAN-edge routing infrastructure that connected branch offices to corporate WANs and ISDN/T1 circuits during the 1990s.

Condition: Used
This Cisco C4500 4000 Series Router Chassis is complete with two installed modules and AC power supply. It powers up — the OK and POWER LEDs illuminate on the front panel — but we were unable to fully test its routing functions, so it is being offered in as-is condition. The chassis shows typical cosmetic wear for equipment of its age: light surface scuffing on the enclosure, normal for a rack-installed unit. Both installed modules are seated and visible, all rear connectors appear intact, and the rack ears are in place. You are welcome to preview and inspect this unit by appointment at our facility in Ventura, CA during normal business hours (8am–5pm, Monday–Friday).
