An 8-port AUI fanout switch designed to distribute Ethernet signals across multiple DB-15 AUI connections. Supports 90–270VAC auto-sensing power input and includes front-panel status indicators for system monitoring.

Applications

AUI fanout switches were standard in legacy Ethernet networks for expanding single transceiver connections to multiple nodes. Commonly used with 10BASE-5 thick Ethernet systems and vintage workstations requiring AUI interfaces. This device supported industrial and telecom installations where distributed AUI connectivity was necessary.

This Black Box LE401A 8-Port DB-15 Fanout Switch has been inspected and powers on. Two front-panel switches are missing: the MODE switch (Remote/Local) and the SQE switch (On/Off) — their locations are visible on the front panel and are captured in the photos. The chassis shows moderate scuffing and surface scratches on the top cover, consistent with normal use. All eight DB-15 AUI port connectors on the rear appear intact and undamaged, and the ONLINE indicator LEDs are visible. The IEC AC power inlet and rocker switch on the rear are present.
