This Anritsu KD8125AW Metal Detector with KD1125AW detection head is being sold AS-IS for parts or repair. A technician evaluated the unit and identified the following documented faults: the machine randomly rejects good product, and failed to reject metal test strips during testing — indicating a detection system malfunction. The white plastic liner around the inside of the detection tunnel is cracked, which may indicate damage to the underlying metal-detecting coils. Additionally, the power cord has been cut and will need to be replaced before the unit can be powered. The stainless steel frame and exterior panels appear intact with light surface wear consistent with production use. Because of the documented detection and tunnel liner issues, this unit is not suitable for production use without repair or parts evaluation.
