Applications

The Zoom 125778 modem was widely used during the dial-up internet era for both data and fax communication on personal computers and small office systems. These modems are still valuable for anyone restoring vintage computers, maintaining legacy systems that require dial-up connectivity, or preserving retro computing environments. V.92 modems represented the final standard for dial-up technology before broadband became dominant, making them now primarily sought by collectors and enthusiasts of retro computing hardware. The serial DB9 connection is compatible with older computer architectures and operating systems that relied on external modems for internet access.
