Applications

Universal device programmers like the Xeltek SuperPro are used by electronics engineers, technicians, and hobbyists to program, read, copy, and verify programmable integrated circuits — including EPROMs, EEPROMs, Flash memory devices, PLDs, CPLDs, and microcontrollers. The SuperPro line was widely used in production environments, R&D labs, and field service settings where a broad range of IC types needed to be handled from a single programmer platform. The parallel port interface was the standard connection method for this class of equipment during the late 1990s and early 2000s, when DB-25 parallel ports were a common feature on desktop PCs. These programmers remain useful today for legacy IC programming, board repair, and firmware flashing on older devices where the original chip type is still encountered in the field.
