Description

Wireless Technologies Corp W442F AMPS B Band Filter 835-849 MHz RF Bandpass

The Wireless Technologies Corp W442F is a cavity-style RF bandpass filter designed for the AMPS B Band transmit frequency range of 835 to 849 MHz. It is built into a solid black aluminum housing with SMA connectors and is designed to pass the specified band while attenuating out-of-band signals, making it suitable for use in cellular base station antenna paths and RF system filtering applications.

Applications

AMPS (Advanced Mobile Phone System) was the analog 800 MHz cellular standard deployed across North America from the early 1980s through its FCC-mandated sunset in February 2008. The B Band transmit segment (835–849 MHz) was allocated to B-block cellular carriers, and bandpass filters like the W442F were used in base station RF paths to ensure transmit signals remained within the licensed passband and did not cause interference to adjacent channels or receive paths. Cavity bandpass filters of this type are passive, high-Q resonant structures that provide steep skirt selectivity, low insertion loss within the passband, and high attenuation outside it. Although AMPS networks are no longer operational, these filters remain useful in RF lab environments, test benches, antenna system filtering, and any application requiring a clean 835–849 MHz passband. They are also collected by RF engineers and telecom historians working on legacy cellular systems.

Condition: Used
This Wireless Technologies Corp W442F AMPS B Band Filter has been inspected and is in good used condition. The black aluminum cavity body shows some surface scuffing and minor wear consistent with prior use, as visible in the photos. The SMA connector appears intact. No cracks or damage to the housing are noted. Please view our photo set and contact us if you have any questions. Please note: We have multiple units in stock — yours may not be the one shown in the photos, however, it will be similar in condition and function.
